Helper
at the Hagerman House Child Care Center

Hagerman House Child Care Center provides little children, with ages from less than 1 to 4, a wonderful place to spend their day. The age group that I helped out was 1 year-old toddlers to 3 year-old kids. I mainly assisted the staff carrying out their daily routines. At the same time, I am involved in a number of activities with the little kids. I read stories to them and teach them new words. Also, during drawing sessions, I taught them very simple objects and colouring. I really enjoy my time with them and they love playing with me as well. My responsibility is reflected through the months of my volunteering at the Day Care Center, and my dedication towards the Day Care has resulted in more than fourty hours I've committed there.

Most importantly, through my volunteering experience as a teaching assistant, I learned to be a giver. I always give all that I have to help students in any ways possible at any time. Leadership to me is all about giving. I feel that if you are willing to give, you'll receive more than you give. Giving was definitely the most rewarding experience for me as a teaching assistant during my high school career.
